My Work

I’m currently immersed in writing a romantic fantasy centred around the ‘chosen one’ trope. It all began one evening when I woke up from a dream—a wild, epic battle scene filled with fae, centaurs, witches, and more. I couldn’t shake the images from my mind, constantly adding storylines to explain the characters. 

My main character, Rowan, is twenty-six years old—because, let’s face it, I’m tired of reading about teenagers finding their fated mates! As someone in her early thirties, I can vouch for the value of living a bit before settling down. 

Rowan’s journey isn’t a happy-go-lucky fantasy; it’s a brutal one, a tale of survival and self-discovery. Raised as a child slave, wrongfully accused of murder, Rowan exists in the shadows of a world ruled by the spiteful High Fae of Falor.

She faces ridicule for her golden-red blood, a clear marker of her halfling status—the offspring of a High Fae and a lesser being. In Falor, halflings are viewed as inferior and are expected to feel ashamed of their heritage. However, Rowan is fortunate to be surrounded by a loving family and encounters other fae who inspire her to fight against Falor’s oppressive regime.

As Rowan embraces her newfound sense of self-worth, she stumbles upon a life-altering secret—one that will reshape her identity. But is she truly prepared for the magnitude of this change? Perhaps the more pressing question is whether the world is ready for the transformation Rowan is destined to bring.

Through this story, I aim to inspire individuals of all ages and backgrounds to stand up for what is right and challenge the forces of hatred and oppression that plague our world today.
